Kur'os, Dragonborn Seeker by Kurocyn Kur'os, Dragonborn Seeker by Kurocyn
Original character Kur'os, Dragonborn Seeker

Kur'os hails from a distinct clan of Dragonborn in that, they still bear tails. His family's often misunderstood legacy of using poisons flows readily through his veins and is as much a part of him as his own beating heart.

A skilled marksman, hunter, and poisoner, Kur'os excels in long range archery using his powerful greatbow, Gaidoku.

Able to draw upon the primal energy of nature itself, he can lace his arrows with various facets of nature's destructive force.

Drawn, inked, and colored while in CA 2008.
-Mechanical pencil, .005 Sakura inking pen, colored pencils

Thanks.  A large part of my inspiration was the dino-esque character from Outlaw Star.  ^ ^

That he looks like an Argonian? Or that his race is Dragonborn?

It's too easy really... ^ ^;;

I'll leave the fact that DnD Dragonborn also have a racial breath attack... lol...

In this case, he spits a poison cloud. >.>;;

Not many notice the bow itself.

Awesome, but i would brand it more of a Wingless Draconian than a Dragonborn. :P

Impressed that it's all color pencil. I can never get such a good effect with it...

I've actually become more of a Pathfinder fan these days. It's basically a remake of 3.5, but with some simplified rules, new takes on classes, etc...

4th ed is fun, but I see them as two separate games with completely different play styles. 4th ed is simplified and streamlined so that it's accessible to people who are new to tabletop RPs. Pathfinder has all of the detail (and then some) of 3.5 and takes a good amount more effort to get good results.

Ah pathfinder. Never played it myself, but have seen it run once or twice. Seems interesting.

I could see that. I do see merit in what Wizards was attempting to do with 4E, its just that in general I'm not too big of a fan. Kudos to them for opening it up to new players though.

I've only played 3.5 and 4th, but I couldn't choose between them. I look at them each as a separate game, not quite as editions of the same thing.

3.5 has immense customization potential, while 4th is streamlined and fast paced.

3.5 is good to play for anyone. 4E is mainly best for new players, or people who are not serious gamers. however, something i myself recently learned, is that when 4E came out, Paizo (the publishers of Dragon Magazine) bought the rights to 3.5 and continue to make material for it under the name Pathfinder RPG. it's really good stuff, i will be getting the expanded rulebook in a few days. i am looking forward to it.

Ah, so that's what Pathfinder is. I've seen it around, but was unaware that Paizo simply bought the rights.

Yes, I do. But, as I noted beneath the picture, his clan is distinct.

The entire clan had been secluded from outside contact for many generations and still retain very strong ties to their draconic heritage. Were he to mate outside of his clan, his offspring would most likely not have such pronounced features.

from how you drew it it looks to be more akin to lizardfolk than to dragonborn

Yes he does. But that's just another hurdle he and his clan has to face.

Localized traits unique to his clan, nothing more.

my complements, its quite interesting, the style. Most of the anatomy is great, proportions are accurate and body structure is accurate as well.

second note, great idea on the tail, it fits in well; but the spikes, not quite dragonborn!. also, not a lot of shading, makes it kinda flat in some areas.

But over all, like it!

Thank you for the comments...

His tail seemed lacking before I added the spines, plus they fit so well with the spines on his back and head crest.

I'm usually cautious of my colors and shading. Don't want to overdue it...

Thanks again. ^ ^
